Automation Nation – Google’s Latest Auto-responder Tools

There’s a reason why businesses all around the world are turning to automated solutions for correspondence; and that’s because they minimize time consumption at a fraction of the cost. Making sure that this automation is taken care of correctly is of paramount importance, and that’s what led Google to develop one of its latest tools for smartphones and tablets; the Smart Reply system.
As its name may suggest, the Smart Reply system allows emails to be responded to, in direct accordance to the content of the email sent. As you can imagine, this will take automation to a whole new level, and with over 20,000 responses currently programmed within the tool – there may now be an answer to every possible piece of correspondence on the planet.
But how does this software work exactly, and how could it benefit businesses and individuals alike? Well, it all comes down to the potential to save time on both a personal and professional scale. More time saved corresponding equals to more time spent doing other things; it’s all about minimizing a person’s (or company’s) need to manually interact with friends, colleagues and customers. If the preliminary tests are anything to go by; the Smart Reply system could soon find itself being used by millions of people around the world.
The Ins and Outs of Smart Reply
Most people have been there; stuck on transit, away from the keyboard, or on vacation, certain activities make it all but impossible to correspond with people, and the world has been in need of a process that allows them to stay in touch in an authentic, believable way – without having to go out on a limb to keep in touch.
That’s where the Smart Reply system comes into the fray – and as Google consistently update the system’s response database; more and more replies will be introduced to deal with pretty much any message. The system works by evaluating the original message and cross-referencing the tone, keywords and subject with a variety of potential topics – all before defining a reply, and getting it back to the original sender.
Will this rule out the need for personal correspondence entirely? Well, that remains to be seen – but as this tool can answer all but the most extensive of questions, comments and messages – meaning that a digital database could actually be engaging with an individual on a personal level, without slipping up and giving away the automated activities in the process – it could do just that.
